children's bedroom furniture advice...

I remeber seeing (somewhere...?argos malibu range) a storage unit for a child's bedroom, that ran the length of the side of a bed, with deep storage compartments with hinged lids down the side of the bed itself, and then shelving for books, bits and pieces etc which stood tall of the bed, to a height of about 4foot.

I've looked on argos/tesco direct/asda furniture websites today and no joy.

Anyone any idea of the kind of thing I'm talking about?

I'm thinking functional rather than 'heirloom' as you can see from my browsing!

thanks

bump
or is admitting to buy furniture in Argos akin to buying fruitshoots in greggs?

not quite sure what you mean but the best piece of children furniture I bought recently was a Parisot midsleeper with built in storage - this one:

www.rainbow-wood.co.uk/parisot/kurt_midsleeper.html

They are a bit pricey, GLTC also do them, www.gltc.co.uk/fcp/product/-/up%20to%2020%25%20off/Reece-Midsleeper-Cabin-Bed---White/10000002983 I got an older model from gumtree which is less grainy wood effect. Apart from a wardrobe you need no other storarge in the room with this or furniture really.

I have 3 dc and all the stuff in their room is Ikea or Lazzari / Parisot / GLTC - but generally ebay/gumtree rather than full price for those last 3. I too like a modern, contemporary, colourful look rather than heritage.

OK, let me try and describe it again Smile

A long, fairly thin storage rectangle shaped unit that goes between the wall and the side of the bed..a bit like a storage headboard thingy or a long thin coffin with a hinged lid, but down the side of the bed instead?

befuzzled thanks for the suggestion, but her bed is fine, and has a guest mattress underneath and I'm not looking to change it

I know what you mean and remember seeing it in Argos but cant find it. Only thing I could find is the head board version

Think you may have to make your own version

Sure I saw something similar in Ikea - oh no it was headboard storage www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50120566/

Sorry hope you find what you are looking for!

I found this oin the Very website bed storgae.

From what I can understand (as they haven't got the measurement on this page) this runs the length of the bed.
