Is there any other answer apart from a rug?

No - I did this with pink nail varnish. Unable to pin it onto anyone else as I'm the only female in the household. However, as our living room is quite big, that carpet (minus the pink stain!), is now carpeting our stairs, landing and DS1's bedroom! Both of those needed replacing anyway. Smile

Act quick! I spilled navy blue on a beige carpet and went at it with baby wipes and a whole bottle of nail varnish remover. It worked well, almost killed me from the fumes, but removed the marks. And it was a whole bottle

You can cut a bit out and replace it with a piece from a hidden area.

Really wet the stain with water, spray on loads of hairspray (not strong hold or anything fancy), a good slug of nail varnish remover and scrub with a nail brush.

Keep on adding all three and scrubbing - it will come out eventually!

Took me about half an hour to remove bright green varnish from a cream carpet.

Yep nail varnish remover and hairspray are the way to go. DD once spilt blue nail polish on my cream carpet and this combination got it out.

My friends toddler painted our cream carpet with dark blue nail varnish. WD40 did the trick.
