DD peed in her boots, WTF do I do?!

that's it really, she had an accident & her lovely leather boots are soaked in piss. Do I have to throw them away or can I soak them in something without ruining them? I just want to put them in the washing machine but they're leather

Put them in a pillowcase and pop them in the machine, they'll be fine [fine]

I put dd's suede ugg style boots in washing machine when she puked on them last week. It was that or bin them, but they were fine. Dried them slowly so leather didn't go all hard. Worth a try.

My dd did this. I didn't know what to do either. In the end, I just wiped it off and left it. Smell went away eventually.

She also once tried on my brand new unworn shoes, and weed in them too

Machine, definitely. Low temp quick/handwash cycle, leave to dry somewhere not too warm.

The army do this on purpose to soften the leather of new boots. I think they then wear them until they are dry...

thanks marian that's what I'll do. If they're ruined they're ruined anyway. If this weather was not so crap she wouldn't normally need them in May anyway and will have grown out of them by next winter!!

madwoman I know, I only discovered this by googling 'pee soaked leather' - I also got a few dodgy sites too!

I know this sounds gross, but they will prob be fine if you do nothing.

Little child wee is fairly inoffensive - let them dry out and see. DD weed all over her leather school type shoes at nursery and I just let them dry and they were fine.

Turn off the spin cycle!

Make sure you stuff them with paper though, or they will shrink.
