Halogen hob - no control - its either on full or off - knackered?

Has anyone had this problem? 3 of the 4 rings only go on full or off - there is no variation so a complete pain to cook on. Is my cooker kaput or would it be worth getting someone out to take a look?

I don't know about halogens. Odinary electric cookers have a thermostatic control that can be changed fairly easily

Look up the price of a new one before deciding how much you're willing to pay for a repair.
