Baby cloth bibs plastic backed are not getting clean.

Hi there.

I've been trying to wash these sort of bibs in the washing machine but they are coming out not clean. The only thing I think might be happening is that the bibs can't get properly clean due to the backing getting in the way?? Sometimes they come out grey. I always put a colour catcher in.

I'm thinking the way to solve this is to have a bowl on the side for the bibs after using them that has vanish or something in as I can't always put a load of washing on every day. Especially at the beggining of the week.

Honestly....
Give up now. Baby bibs will not stay clean looking. They will be clean but they will be staine from endless carrot/ sweet potato/ banana mush.

Focus on the clothes and get some decent stain remover for them. I like 'shout'. It gets curry and strawberry juice out of white tops! Grin

Exactly what sleepy said.. IME nothing shifts carrot purée.

I am rather fond of Ariel Stain Remover Spray (currently on offer in Sainsburys) but where bibs are concerned you're fighting a losing battle.

DS eats in vests. When they get too many stains on them I chuck them in with some dylon.

Get a couple of the rubber Tommee Tippee bibs with the scoup at the bottom. The soft rubber ones not the hard plastic ones. Stick in washing up bowl after use and clean with dishes. Can even wipe down with baby wipes when out till you can get home to properly wash. Cloth bibs are too high maintenance once babies are eating rather than just having bottles or drooling.

You can get them in Tesco or Boots etc.

Ikea bibs. Are like a soft plasticy full arm length with food catcher.

We generally wipe over after each meal and through in machine every few days
