How to remove felt-tip pen from clothes?

Ds1 returned from school yesterday with his polo shirt "decorated" by one of his classmates (as they are in reception, I'll give this boy the benefit of the doubt but knowing him, out probably was on purpose. I've washed the shirt with normal washing powder, having used the Vanish stick, but it hasn't budged. I can't bleach it as the shirt isn't white. I found the thread on how to remove felt pen from a table, but didn't know how out would work on clothes. Any ideas?

if it is whiteboard marker then nothing shifts it!

Whiteboard marker will come off almost with stain devil pen remover but you have to use it before you ever wash the item - sorry Sad

Depends what it is and you might have set it with the other treatments, but soak it in milk overnight then put it through the wash. (When it comes out of the milk it will still look the same, so don't expect it to improve until it comes out of the wash).

Are you sure Seona? I came here hoping to find a cure for my DS2's red and now black school sweatshirts. Whiteboard drawing is his favourite, but he gets more on his sweatshirt than on the board Hmm !

I was hoping against hope that the reason I couldn'[t remove it was the pathetic eco washing powder I use, and a hefty dose of Bold would do the trick.

I think I might have to curb his artistic impulses Grin .

Amistillsexy - absolutely nothing shifts it, not even bleach once the clothes have been washed.

Whiteboard markers are evil!

I know Angry. I've bleached his white shirts, to no avail.

I've decided his uniform will have more in common with a mechanic's overalls than a business suit Grin!

I'll keep my fingers crossed and try the milk. I just have to hope that the reception children haven't been let loose around indelible markers Hmm

Thanks for your responses
