How to get white goods moved several hundred miles - man with van?

My father has offered us all his white goods - big fridge, freezer, dishwasher etc. Yay! Except he lives in Croydon-ish and I live in Edinburgh. Have DD age 17m and another on the way, no wish to drive and shift ourselves if can be avoided.

Are there reasonable firms that might do this? What would I search on? Clearly not couriers, but not sure what... What might it cost - couple of hundred quid? Less?

DP is a Man with a Van, and does this kind of thing from time to time. He would charge 60p per mile, there and back, plus £8.50 per hour for his own time. He would also, probably, want the cost of an overnight stay factored in, although he would probably accept a bed for the night at yours (if you don't mind having 16 stone of ex Rugby player snoring in your home...)
