I need a system. My kids are 9, 5 and 3 and have they have a surprising number of shoes that are constantly in a guddle and it's doing my head in...

I have a box in the playroom that I chuck everything in.

shoe rack under the stairs. But he only has 2 pairs so not like its a problem yet.

BertieBotts · 21/04/2012 09:31

Shoe rack here too. He only has trainers and wellies, though...

Mine have: wellies, crocs, trainers, school shoes and slippers each.

We have a thing on the wall with three pull outs that each child is assigned to. Kind of like a draw, but not. Will see if I can find it on google. It is on the wall in the porch. Nice and tidy.

Hmmm, I'm not convinced my lots would end up in a shoes rack...the box to chuck all in might be more likely to work...

And it doesnt have the slots, just space inside, so it all gets chucked in, but is not in the way like a box/crate would be. And hidden!

We have a big wooden toy box in the hall. It's not ideal as the shoes the kids want always seem to be at the bottom, which means the shoes get thrown out all over the floor. If anyone hs a good solution for storing 20ish pairs of shoes I would love to hear it.

Argos one is nice but says it only stores 12 pairs...mine have school, trainers, slippers, party, crocs, doodle type EACH...aaargh!

Quite a choice in link above but some are expensive and don't hold that much. The 10 pocket fabric organisers that hang from a rail at ca. £10 each might work - one per child - if you have the space.

We have a pine shelf - something like thiswww.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00111994/ but with additional shelves and not so high. Still not enough space.

in the hall downstairs for boots and crocs they throw things in 2 large wicker boxes (John Lewis) then they store the rest of their shoes upstairs in plastic under-bed boxes
