We emigrated a few months a go, been living in a serviced apartment and about to move into our proper house on Monday. Need to buy everything for an organised and clean life! We have storage coming out of our ears (god bless America) and this is my list so far - I am usually a slattern and stuff builds up very easily and quickly so going to have strategic crates in each room!

Inspired by the lemon trees in abundance in the garden I'm going to try to make the move over to greener cheaper cleaning. List so far:

Toilet brushes
Baking Soda
Vinegar
Those squirty bottles
cleaning cloths and sponges
dusters
A swifter thingy (wooden floors throughout)
Boxes for recycling
Bins for every room
Dark and Light seperate laundry baskets
Laundry detergent
Washing up Liquid

er...run out of ideas!!

I love my little Caddy similar to this it's great for keeping the main things together, you don't forget anything so no running back and forth.

Micro-fibre cloths. An extendable feather-duster
Have a look on the Lakeland website. They probably don't deliver to the US but you'll find lots of things you 'need' and can find closer to home.

E-cloth

We've got one for the kitchen, bathroom and mirrors. It doesn't negate the need for cleaning products IMO, but helps with keeping on top of things with a daily wipe down (or more often eg bathroom sink)
