Can I wash something filled with polystyrene beads?

DS has weed on his squishy dog pillow. It stinks. Can I wash it or will it have to be binned? Please help, he is very upset at the thought of it going in the bin.

I washed a bean filled penguin... On 30 degree wash then pegged it up to dry - it came out fine

I have washed loads of the kids toys in the machine even when they say 'surface wash only' I tend to put them in a pillow case and wash them on the wool cycle or on the speed wash at 30 degrees.

try it, the worst that can happen (as long as you make sure the beads can't escape in the machine) is that is will have to be thrown away anyway, so you have nothing to lose.

I recently washed a squishy pillow and it came out fine.

I would definitely check it doesn't have any tiny holes in first though as I had a sudden panic mid-wash that it would leak polystyrene beads and clog the machine up!

Don't tumble dry it and it will be fine at 30.

I have washed loads of stuff like that - just don't tumble dry it although I have been known to put things in on the low heat setting and they have been fine
