Oven elements why do mine only last 6 -12 months?

I have a neff built in electric oven. The original element lasted about 4 yrs. But since then we have gone through one about every 6 to 12 months. Any ideas how we can make it last longer?

are you buying genuine Neff elements, or Joe Soap's korean substitute off ebay?

I wonder whether your oven has developed a fault? We had this with our lights and turned out the electrics needed tweaking.
