Umm, stupid question about my Belling cooker!

have had my oven for about 6 months now but barely use the oven part as I use the slow cooker to try and keep bills down.

When I use it, I get confused by the temps. There are numbers, 80,100,120 etc and dots alternating around the dial, so if I want to cook at 180degrees do I turn the dial to the dot or the number?

Is the dot there to show the mid temp between two numbers or where I should position the dial for the temp shown next to it??

I feel stupid asking this and I bluff it whenever dp asks what temp oven should be on but I need to know!

Numbers are in the right place, and dots are for in between temperatures in mine. So the dot between 160 and 180 indicates 170.

Thanks- that's how I've been using it but wasn't sure as old cooker had dashes and the no. Underneath them!
