I put a tea towel in and wash with soda crystals on a boil wash.

Seems to work!

Take out detergent drawer and wash that out really well.

Wash around the rubber seal. Amazing how much dirt and gunk accumulates there.

Clean out the filter (should be down near the floor on front of machine) - put a towel or something in front of it before you open it as some water will come out.

Then put machine on hottest wash with nothing in. You can add some soda crystals if you have some.

If there is lots of foam and water looks dirty you may need to do again.

And leave door and drawer open as much as you can.

I had this problem for ages and tried everything. Then I read somewhere that it can be caused by using concentrated washing liquids or tabs as they dissolve too fast or something and don't clean out the pipes properly. Not sure how true it is but I have switched back to big box powders and the problem has gone.

Do a service wash - soda crystals in the drum on a 90' wash. I think you're meant to do that every month. I also use a Dr Beckmann service wash powder thing every now and then & that really helps too.

I put the detergent drawer in the dishwasher from time to time.
