We've just got a new tall larder fridge but I realise that I've never really known how to best store things. My mum is currently away on hols - mums' always know inane stuff like this! - and I'm dithering about where meat / cheese / jars should go. (I appreciate this is 'sad' but it's pouring with rain here and I do so love my shiny new appliance!!) TIA.

LOL. When I got my new fridge I filled it a la advertisement, filled the bottle rack with champagne, put eggs in the rack etc. It looked lovely Grin

Now it's evolved into whatever's practical. So:
Jars on the top shelf for occasional use.
Cheese, eggs, cold meats etc on the next shelf.
Full wine bottles in the rack, milk juice and opened wine in the door.
Butter in the door
Fresh meats etc on a lower shelf
Salad & veg in one bin, packed lunch bits in the other.
Beer anywhere it fits.

No idea if that's how it's supposed to be but it works for us.

That sounds good, CM. I'll go and give your suggestions a whirl!

I put folded kitchen roll in the door shelves to make them easy to clean

The most important thing to remember us raw meats at the bottom, cooked meats above (obviously all wrapped well). This avoids contamination. The warmest part is the door
