Help please – dishwasher-related

Fecking dishwasher turned all my nice shiny silver cutlery cloudy this may have been my fault as it had run out of rinse aid. I added rinse aid and salt, cleaned the filter and ran it all through another wash, but it's still cloudy.

Short of polishing each bit by hand, is there anything I can do to make it shine again?

I think your going to have to polish it by hand.

I thought silver wasn't meant to go in the dishwasher.

Oops, I think they're steel not silver . Sorry. Does the 'by hand' advice still apply?

Give them a rub with a green plastic scourer in the sink with a bit of WUL, it will only take a few seconds per item.
