Washing smells of wee...

My daughter is not reliably dry at night. Usually I get the soggy stuff and bung it straight in the washer. However my OH was in charge the other day and put the wet sheets and jammies in her laundry basket and didn't tell me.... so now all the stuff in her basket is contaminated and because it didn't get washed straight away it ALL smells of wee. It has been washed with surcare (all we can use due to allergies) and it still smells. I have washed it again to no avail and it was drying outside until the heavens opened!

Any ideas people? I can't afford to replace it all. (I will be explaining things to OH in no uncertain terms...)

Napisan? Or can that not be used with your allergies?

Ooh, hadn't thought of napisan.....

will go and read the box in the supermarket and see if we can use it..

Would old-fashioned white vinegar work? We use it to get rid of the damp smell on washing where something wet was thrown in the washing basket. There shouldn't be anything that would affect an allergy and it doesn't make the clothes smell of vinegar.

Second napisan or the vinegar, as either are used to wash nappies :).

seconding white vinegar.

I also would do bio powder + extra rinse or extra wash.

Well, I have solved the problem! The load that smelt of wee got left out on the line in a day and a half of rain! It has now been washed again and no longer smells of wee!

I have logged the white vinegar for a later time.....

OH has been informed of his numptiness and given strict instructions for next time....
