Um that's it really. Have a cheapo fridge/freezer that is seven years old. Everything works fine but the seal's dont seal any more. I'm told removing the seal is relatively easy but that replacing a new one can be a bit tricky. Has anyone ever done this ? Does it last or will the seal just keep going ?

Ta in advance for any advice

Not sure if seal is broken or just not sealing. If the latter, try giving it a good clean - in between the folds too, with warm soapy water. Then use a hairdryer to warm and soften the plastic. Should find it seals afterwards. May need to redo periodically.

If plastic seal is broken then will need to be replaced. I've never replaced one though.

Thanks Pengy, sorry have been offline for a day or two. I'll certainly give the hair dryer a go.

I usually find giving it a good clean does the trick.

Never tried the hairdryer stuff!
