So have a white dining chair with a removable cover, what's the best way to get felt tip pen out of it?

Can you put it in the wash ? If so I would buy one of those small specialist stain removers for pen and then put it in the wash .

Hi it did wash out thank god, however then found what I think is paint from when dh decorated I have recently retated tge chairs!
