Full wall storage

Hi all! Happy Saturday! Do any of you have any sort of full wall storage that didn't cost the earth? I'm thinking double height hanging space mostly with loads of shelving for boxes/baskets. We have a spare room with a 12 foot wall available but, as it's the first wall you see when the door's open, I want it to look tidy. Are sliding doors a bit naff these days? Would a curtain look wierd? Would it cost much to construct it ourselves? Honestly it's something I've always wanted to do - would solve loads of our upstairs storage problems but proper wardrobes are so expensive and don't give the layout I want. As we don't have lots of money to spend on such a project I'd love to hear any ideas you can come up with!

have you looked at the ikea pax system? really cheap for customised wardrobes.

we are planning on using the interiors and having doors custom made.

I would look at the Ikea Antonius system. I think with some nice boxes and shelves and if everything's well organised in boxes etc then you probably wouldn't need anything to hide it away. If you did want to be able to have it closed off then I would make some full length curtains to draw in front of it - don't think that would look weird.
