stop my living room fall back int chaos? Have spent two days decluttering, steaming and tidying. It looks good. How do I keep it this way, other than banning everyone from coming in ( a la olden days)

Have you got a place for everything? I find since I designated everything a 'home' my house is tidier. Or at the very least, takes less time to have a tidy round IYSWIM? And I try to do a bit every day, so perhaps while I'm watching something on the TV that has ad breaks, I will throw things in the bin during one break, stick the dishwasher on in the second etc.

I'd also love to hear everyone's ideas OP. my living room is always cluttered within days of tidying up and drives me mad!

Last night I was the mum from hell, telling people to pick up their stuff, and don't get out more toys, etc. I don't want to be like that, but I do want ( eventually) to have a tidy home.
How do I get them to WANT to keep it tidy 'cos they like it without causing lifelong angst?
