LIZS · 19/03/2012 17:53

There was a guy leafleting as I arrived home this afterrnoon who quoted me £12 for every 8 weeks - 12 windows(one bay), french door and side door. Does this sound about right ?

scarlettsmummy2 · 19/03/2012 17:55

Yes, I pay that for similar size and he comes every four weeks

mumblechum1 · 19/03/2012 17:56

That's really good. I pay £50 a time which is why my windows are filthy Wink I only get them done once or twice a year.

clam · 19/03/2012 17:58

£50?!! Blimey, do you live in a mansion? Or just London?

PigletJohn · 19/03/2012 20:14

sounds fair

mumble is being ripped off.

they usually charge more the less often they come as the windows are dirtier.

the other good way of finding a windowcleaner is to ask your neighbours for recommendations, or keep an eye out for people working nearby.

The people who do my old mum's house start at the top of the road and work their way to the bottom, do practically every house (just the front if homeowners are out and no rear access), don't even have to put their ladders and buckets back on the van, work fast and have a good price.

BloooCowWonders · 19/03/2012 21:36

Ours is £15 for 4 bed 2 floor house. Used to pay the same when we lived in a 3 storey town house.

Am astounded at £50!^

Posey · 19/03/2012 21:44

We do our own as I cannot justify, or afford, the crazy prices quoted (yes in London)

PigletJohn · 19/03/2012 21:46

mumble's house has a lot of windows

madaboutmadmen · 19/03/2012 21:47

I pay £10 for a 3 bed semi with one bay and patio doors. He comes every 6 weeks so that sounds about right. A friend of mine in London also pays something ridiculous but he actually does the insides too! do all the inside windows need such a thorough cleaning on a regular basis?! London eh?! Wink

madaboutmadmen · 19/03/2012 21:49

Should have added, my mothef lives in a terrace so only gets the front done and she pays £2! he takes his time too cleaning the frames etc. She does tip!

chopchopbusybusy · 19/03/2012 21:52

We pay £9 every 4 weeks for 15 windows, 1 bay, patio doors and a side door.
Mumblechum is either being ripped off or lives in a stately home.

mumblechum1 · 20/03/2012 07:53

I think I am being ripped off tbh. It's fairly big but it's not Hampton bleeding Palace.

SweetGrapes · 20/03/2012 08:00

£5 for the front and £10 for the whole house. 3 bed semi in London. No conservatory.

soupmaker · 20/03/2012 12:33

£4 every month for 2 bays, and seven other window and doors. And they move DD's wee house to get at the back windows. Great service in Glasgow.

aftereight · 20/03/2012 12:38

£12 every 4 werks for 4x bay windows & 5x ordinary windows.

moogalicious · 20/03/2012 12:42

£6 per 6 weeks for 6 windows (including 2 bays), a single patio door, front and back doors. Includes climbing onto a roof to get to ds's window and hopping over the back fence if I'm out.

TheCunningStunt · 20/03/2012 12:44

We pay £5 for 8 windows...thats Scotland though...3 bed terrace.

Seona1973 · 20/03/2012 13:09

I pay £5 - 4 bed detached with a bay window (scotland)

Fuzzywuzzywozabear · 20/03/2012 13:34

£12.50 every 4 weeks - 4 beds with conservatory - I'm in the S.E.

BsshBossh · 21/03/2012 10:56

£30 every 3 months, less £ for more frequent cleaning, London 3-bed, also cleans window frames and checks my gutters.

£6.50 every 4weeks, for 5 bed terrace ... 8 regular windows, 1 bay, patio doors, 1 light above front door and glass rear door.

fenellamae · 03/05/2012 13:54

£10 for 12 windows + 2 bays, french doors and two glass doors. That's Gloucestershire prices mind!

reastie · 03/05/2012 15:39

That's better than we pay by a bit (in SE England)

spartafc · 03/05/2012 16:06

£5.50 a month (think they come fortnightly though) for 3 bed semi with conservatory and two glass panelled doors.
Yorkshire.
