Cleaning hardwood floors??

So we've been here for 2 years a little while now and the floors are starting to look slightly minging cos they haven't been washed in that time. I think they're engineered hardwood? They're not laminate or the original floorboards so are there any other options?

So what do I clean them with? Can I use just a bog standard flash type cleaner or do I need something else? Help please, now I've realised how disgusting they are I'm desperate to do them......

What?

Wooden floor cleaner, once a week.

I would sand and reseal as it has been two years.

Use a mop and bucket and just make sure the mop is wrung out well so that you don't 'soak' the floor.

Use wooden floor cleaner - you can buy it anywhere, but it won't do any harm to use some ditluted flash every once in a while 2 years Grin.

As its been so long you probably should give it a good scrub on your hands and knees with a rough weave cloth or flannel to get the grime up, and then from then on a quick flick with a mop will be fine Smile

Not washed in TWO years? Seriously, they must be disgusting!

Wood floor cleaner every day for a week with a micro fibre mop and then once a week when they look more presentable.

I would be on my hands and knees though in your case Grin

I usually do my wood floors with just warm water and a microfibre mop. Once a month a little wood cleaner in the water. Seems to work ok Smile

Wood is definitely best if not over washed but I fainted at 2 years Wink Sorry OP! Grin

I know, I know I'm a slattern!! I'm just building up all our immune systems..... In my defence our shoes mostly come off by the door and we haven't got pets. Anyhoo, off to buy some floor cleaner and get scrubbing.

Thanks for all the advice. NE

We've bought one of these for our wooden floors - very very good!
