Billy bookcases

I have the standard bookcases along one wall and they look great.

Does anyone know if I can attach doors onto them? I'm not sure if the doors are just for the more expensive ones.

I'm thinking of putting doors on the bottom half to hide the kids tat things.

Yes you can - they do look good together don't they (although a bit thin and wobbly on their own) - we have doors on the bottom of some of ours for exactly the reason you described Smile

They just screw on. There are brackets in the box when you buy the doors. They are great for toys. I can fit loads in mine.

Thanks Smile

I do love them. I agree they are a bit wobbly, if it wasn't a rented house I probably would have superglued them to the wall! (my DIY secret!)

Ours are screwed to the wall with the brackets they provided (not sure if you are allowed to screw stuff to wall?) and they are much more secure. No superglue needed Wink

Ps that is a terrible DIY tip - did you used to work on changing rooms by any chance...velcro anyone?! Wink Grin

Changing Rooms! I loved that, people having ordinary houses with a random Roman themed living room Grin

I do not profess to be a DIY expert, but if in doubt I get the No More Nails out Grin

we toddler prooved our (6) billies with doors on the bottom part.
looks much tidier. haven't secured them at the top but are in new(ish) build and te floors are pretty even. if you put the heavy stuff in the bottom they are quite secure and the doors hinder the climbing. liking the velcro idea.
