I'm not sure about ceramic (mine is metal I think Blush ) but if the tried-and-tested 'get it really hot and then scrape it onto an old tea towel' method doesn't work, I have found toothpaste to be quite effective Wink

I think fairy liquid is supposed to be good.

Bar Keepers Friend. I always do mine with this. Get's T-shirt logos off as well!

Bicarbonate of soda rubbed onto a warm iron plate with a cloth and a bit of elbow grease sorts mine out a treat..

i have a cottonbag full of white candlewax, and when my iron needs cleaning i just iron over the wax until some has melted and wipe the excess of on a old cottonrag.

I use ghds and carefully scape the dried on bits with scissors or sharp knife, then use a wet flannel to get the last bits off and clean it up. No scratches and comes up as good as new. Ex hairdresser by the way :)

Ok just realized your talking about an actual iron rather than than the ceramic hair iron kind, Blush
