black out curtains?

Help! My children are starting waking up too early in the mornings. Where can I buy proper black-out blinds (like you get in hotel rooms), ideally in a plain colour?

Sorry!! I said blinds in my message, but I meant curtains. I know about Ikea black out blinds, I've got them at home but they let a lot of light in through the sides.

Ikea do not do black out curtains as far as I know, or do they? I haven't been for a couple of years.

We have them in the lounge, dining and bedrooms, they are thermal as well.

I bought them from Additions catalogue but dont know if they do 'childrens' colours or patterns.

Mine are all cream with a leaf pattern in cream.

You can buy blackout material and easily add it to your existing curtains.

I bought cheapo blackout linings from ebay - you just hook them onto your curtain hooks. There are tons on there and they don't require any sewing or anything, you just have to take your curtains down and hook the linings on and then sling them back up.

Ditto gro blinds here. Great for taking on holiday too.

I bought some thermal black out curtains from amazon in a royal blue colour. They don't look great but are good at blocking out light however if your after total darkness your better off with an easyblind which velcro's to the window frame for 100% darkness. It's the only thing I've come across for total darkness.

I bought mine from Next they have a variety of plain colours in different lengths and have a heavy cream lining.

We've got a baa baa blind, don't know if they are still available, but it's one of those with suckers that fits any window. It goes everywhere with us, and ds is nearly 6 now!

We bought ours from eBay. They're thick blackout blind type material with a girly flowery pattern printed on them. Not as nice close up as 'proper' material curtains but from a distance you wouldn't know.

You do need quite a bit of excess above and to the sides of the window (which we don't really have) but I didn't want DD sleeping in total darkness as it's tricky to replicate when staying away from home.
