Toy storage need, where should I look?

Desperately need to order something online today, have moved around the living room and now there is nowhere to put toys!

I need something like the ikea trofast 'stepped' one to go in the space under the stairs.
I've looked at ikea, gltc any other suggestions please?

I would be tempted to by pass these and go down a more solider, cheaper route - I like the really useful box company - they have a website. Loads of quality boxes in all colours.

Try a cull too. I tend to request no toys at christmas/birthday and the boys just have what they want (and will play with) from us.

Have had a massive cull over the weekend. At the moment we have 3 wicker baskets (small medium and large) with toys in, and 4 puzzles. Which I think is quite minimalist for 2 young children?

Will check out that website, thanks.

I have Ikea Expedit and love it, it's a bit nicer looking than Trofast IMO. I think you could probably buy enough different shapes to make a 'stepped' version.

Just coming in to say ikea expedit and see someone beat me too it. I bought those wire/ plastic trays you used to get in school to go in mine, found them online after some advanced googling. Expedit is so cheap and looks great.

Ooh I like the sound of the wire trays. Are they really big ones that fit the whole square? I can't remember there being grooves for drawers.

Had a look at the really useful box compnay, I don't really want something plastic, I'd prefer something that actually looks like a piece of furniture.

Expedit is the way forward.
We have it in the conservatory and two out of the four bedrooms.
The material boxes are good.

There are no grooves. I just sit them in the shelves. They aren't as tall as they are wide but they work. The fabric boxes which fit exactly look nice but ds couldn't see where things were.

Plaguegroup · 14/03/2012 20:08

I have the lekmanplastic boxes to go in the expedit, they're transparent enough to see what's inside. They look good in DS's room but I'd probably go for for something different in a more 'adult' area of the house.

I've had a look and I really like the wicker baskets. I think I will probably go for a 4-square expedit cube with wicker baskets.
