Have changed filter & bag but when used it smells like old, wet dog. We do have a dog & I suspect it's the hair, but how to get rid of the smell??
Miele cat'n'dog by the way Grin

You can buy those little deodorizers that go inside the hoover bag but I've never used them myself & am not sure it would get to the root of the problem
Hmm . It happens to me sometimes if I have been hoovering in DS2's bedroom as he is a smoker & I get stale tobacco smell coming from hoover - but changing bag always works for that.

sprinkle some washing powder and hoover it up.

JLP used to sell these little balls that you put in the bag, they came in a glass jar. I have no idea if they still do them

I sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda that has some drops of essential oil mixed in (tea tree etc) on the carpet, wait a while then Hoover. That way both the carpets and the Hoover smell fresher! I have two big dogs, and a Miele too.

Ours never smelt until DH took the whole thing apart and cleaned it (ours is bagless), ever since it has since smelt like wet dog :(

Ah mrsmagnolia - I've investigated the smelly device and I see the extra filter Blush
I'd only replaced the white one.
Now ordered the charcoal & looking forward to hoovering without making my house stink Smile
Will also bung in bicarb for good measure.
Thanks all!

It's a cop out but I use these which you can buy in Savers amongst other places.

I've got a bagless vacuum cleaner so I fish it out and reuse it a few times
