It's making a very loud vibrating noise as it builds up to a spin. I've checked and it's not moved up against something. Could the drum be about to come off or something else expensive/terminal do you think. I've had it 9 yrs (bosch) thanks

This happened to mine. Does it sound like its about to take off?

Bearings went on mine, ended up buying a new one as parts and labour would have cost about the same

I'm not exactly sure, but that was what our old one did when I think the brushes needed replacing. Might be worth calling out an engineer before going straight for a new one.

Our old Bosch lasted 15 years!

If you get a new one, i'd recommend Miele. I got mine interest free credit in Currys and its 8 yrs now and a total dream!

Thanks. It also really smells despite trying everything, from a good scrub to empty washes with various things chucked in, and more besides. The seal is looking a bit grim and the bit that the drawer slots into is a bugger to get clean. Think I might give in now and replace. She's had a good life..
