Smelly marble pastry block

I have a pastry marble block (on which I keep a plastic chopping board when not used). The marble has begun to smell of 'off' milk. Anyone know any good tips for getting rid of the smell?

try cleaning them both with lemon juice n salt made into a paste for the marble block. try and just soak the other in warm water with lemon juice squeezed into it for the plastic one. try and keep them stored seperatley, stored on end or side rather than flat ontop of eachother. we had same problem in work and found that air allowed to circulate round them allowed them to dry thoroughly and stay clear of smells

!lemon juice will dissolve marble, which is a smooth limestone, much the same material as the lime scale in your kettle, but prettier.

I'd go for warm water and WUL.

What about bi carbonate of soda in hot water? that gets rid of most bad smells IME.
