This week I have learnt that someone on MN knows every conceivable thing about the cleaning and sorting of houses.

This one has been bugging me for years so here goes....

We have a glass shower screen. The bit where the screen meets the bath has a seal thing like this

The problem is it gets all manky and mouldy and is frigging impossible to clean which means that every six months I have to bin it and buy a new one. Surely there is a cheaper way of doing this? Am I missing some sort of super obvious little stopper thingumy that stops all the scuzz getting in??

You could try this. I haven't tried it but seen it recommended on here a few times and keep meaning to order some.

Ooh HG looking promising. Thanks ladies will give it a go (love an excuse for a trip to Lakeland)

(also quite pleased that the answer is clever cleaning products rather than some super obvious thing that goes in the end that I've just never known about)

Ta!

I had a shower screen like that, I filled a syringe up with bleach and quirted it in, left it to soak and then rinsed it out. Job done.

The syringe may have come from my vet nurse friend but you might be able to get them in boots? (The hospital also gave some to me when DS was ill so I could measure out the correct amount of medicine).

Does the mould get into the tube?

Take a long piece of string, longer than the tube and tie a few knots in one end to make a little weight. Tie a ribbon/strip of rag on the other end. Drop the weighted end of the string through the tube then pull the whole lot through.
