Single Divan or metal bed for children under age 13

unsure which one to go for?? as i've never had a metal bed as always had divans.

The two eldest girls are 13 and 7 and are on the metal bunk bed and also my youngest is 3, she is in her big wooden cotbed, but i need it for my new baby soon.

I agree with MrsM. Up until now we've had wooden slatted beds, which lasted fine. dd2 had a new metal tubular bed what doesn't seem like a long time ago, and not only is it really creaky and squeaky, the "slats" bit has completely bowed. She's only 10 and skinny with it, so it's not her weight!
