Iron soleplate got gunge on it.

How do I clean my ( very expensive) Philips Steamglide iron of the gunge stuck to it without damaging the soleplate? Please help

I asked this a couple of weeks ago - there is, apparently, some fantastic Lakeland product. I didn't get it, as I live nowhere near Lakeland and in the end I got mine off with a scourer.

But everyone on the thread swore by it!

Used bread soda- saw an earlier thread.cleaned tje gumge . Hope clothes will be ok and i haven't ruined the soleplate!
