How do I get my white enamel bath sparkling?

I hae just moved into a new house and the bath is tired and has inground dirt, limescale round the plughole, bits of plaster in it, (from when the workmen were doing work here).
It needs to be sparkling like my old bath in my other house.
No amount of CIF bathroom is doing it.
How do I get the tired old bath looking sparkly and new please

Vim, Ajax or Barkeeper's Friend. Give it a good scrub with a kitchen scourer, leave it for five minutes, rinse then get rid of the powdery residue with an e cloth.

nothing harsh on an enamel bath, will damage the enamel (will then feel rough, a bit like limescale). cream cleaner + elbow grease is your best bet.

Arm and hammer toothpaste. I always use it on my bath and it brings it up lovely. It must be the bicarb of soda in it. My bath is an old cast iron one that really needs re enameling but I can't afford it right now so it gets the toothpaste treatment.
