Anyone changed a washing machine doorseal?

Ours has come off and broken - somehow even though door not shut properly with a bit if blanket caught in it, the washing machine still turned on. Cue broken door seal and a leak. Is it easy to put a new one on?

You can google videos of how to do it, but it's not easy and it depends on the model you've got. DH took ours off a few weeks ago, the clot, and spent a day trying to get it back on before admitting defeat and calling in a plumber. I think it cost £40, but it was well worth it.
