Baked trouser residue on glass of gas fire...

Not so dd has melted her school trousers on the front of the gas fire by trying to warm them prior to wearing them...before I had noticed, the lump of (acrylic) trouser has melted onto the glass and kind of caramelised. Have tried white spirit, hob cleaner etc. Any ideas oh Wise Ones? TIA.

Some ideas here this is about cleaning irons but I guess the same principle applies. I'd try the warming up and scraping with wood as the first step before you start on the products.

I'd use a thin metal paint-scraper, and do it cold.

It will not dissolve in any common solvents.
