I'm virtually the same as spicyorange except for the windows. My window cleaner does the inside of my windows every 2 months... They don't seem to get dirty, so I'm not going to start doing it in-between.

MaureenMLove · 17/02/2012 11:35

Everything once a week and a big clean every 6 weeks.

Hoover- erm, was pretty much daily but have got into pregnant collapse on the sofa the instant the dcs are in bed mode so erm, weekly? Blush.

Dust- dining room where the fire is a couple of times a week. Bedrooms weekly ish when they get tidied, living room when I can be arsed.

Polish- you what now?

Loo/bathroom- proper clean weekly, loo gets a wipe down in between.

bedding/towels- ideal is weekly. Reality is when I can find a spare slot int eh washing machine.

Mop floors- See hoovering.

Clean inside of windows- Is there any point doing that when children put their hands on them 30m seconds later? Suffice to say not often. I have a iwndow cleaner for the outside though!

Dee03 · 17/02/2012 11:58

I'm pretty much the same as spiceyorange.
But I Hoover daily as I have 2 dogs and 4 cats....and their hair floating around drives me crazy!!!!!!

oreocrumbs · 17/02/2012 13:03

I hoover and sweep every day, do a load of washing and wipe kitchen over as I go.

Everything else gets cleaned once a week, apart from the toilets that I do every couple of days.

I do one big job a week, things like washing windows, paintwork, moving furniture to hoover under etc, so they end up getting done once every 4-6 weeks.

The floor gets mopped as and when. We have 4 dogs so this time of year its pretty much daily, and when its dry maybe twice a week.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/02/2012 13:04

All of that is done every day apart from the towels (every other day or so) and the windows (fortnightly or so I suppose, they don't get dirty really)

MamaMaiasaura · 17/02/2012 13:06

All daily except bedding and towels which is weekly, and windows fortnightly.

BuckBuckMcFate · 17/02/2012 13:15

Everything the same as spicy orange except I Hoover twice a day downstairs minimum. 4dc, trail of crumbs, mud, little stones, bits of fluff.

I do a minimum of 2 loads of washing everyday.

I bleach the whole bathroom everyday, 4 males, don't trust their aim and even though they do wipe up after themselves I don't want to have a bath if I think there is wee on the floor.

I don't mop I use a cloth and get on my hand and knees. I try to do this everyday as it takes less time to give it a quick wipe than having to really scrub. And I like to pretend to myself that it's exercise.

GoldenMama · 17/02/2012 13:27

Once a week for most things for me, appart from I hoover maybe 3 times a week, but brush under the table daily. Clean windows once a month.

What are your current habbits permaquandry?

Hmmmm, think I'm not doing enough actually. I change towels weekly (hand towels more often), bedding every 2 weeks, tho I am reducing that. I clean + hoover the kitchen every day, clean toilets + sinks (I have 3) as and when, prob 2-3 times per week. Do a load of washing prob every day, iron twice a week. Everything else I try to do once a week but it sometimes slips to 2 weeks.

I'm not happy with how often it's done. I could make a list of (excuses) reasons but I must try to be more organised. My DC make such a mess and most of my time is spent clearing/cleaning up after them, as opposed doing the normal housework and a it feels a bit like groundhog day! Thx for ur replies.

Hoover , once or twice a week.
Dust/polish, never.
Clean toilets/bathrooms. Ever other week at least. If it looks dirty I clean it.
Change bedding. Have slacked on this. My bed gets changed once a month but I shower and wear clean pj's ever day. The dc's bed get changed about twice a month.
Change towels. Every other day at least.
Mop kitchen/b'room floor. Do baby wipes count?
Clean inside of windows. Couple of times a year.

lucidlady · 17/02/2012 13:53

Oh my god I am a total slattern Blush How do you find the time to do all this??

Asinine · 17/02/2012 14:02

Once a week I pretend I'm the cleaner then hoover, mop, clean bathrooms, dust, do quick job on windows and glass. Dcs tidy first. Big house 6beds, four bathrooms, three floors...

Every morning put washing on, dishwasher empty, quick bathroom clean, change hand towels and tea towels. Kitchen is clean after every meal.

Wash beds sheets and pillow cases weekly, duvets twice weekly, towels weekly.

Paintwork and hoovering under big furniture, rarely.

Asinine · 17/02/2012 14:04

My big weekly clean is two hours, morning stuff is part of routine all done by 8 ish, washing is on in morning put away in early evening when dcs getting ready for bed.

SuePurblybilt · 17/02/2012 14:11

Hoover - daily and it's still dog hairy. I could never stop
Dust/polish - eye level or lower, every couple of days as I go or a quick flick before hoovering. High up shelves, every couple of weeks. Cobwebs on ceilings can go for ages Grin
Clean toilets/bathrooms- wipe round every day of loo, sink and shelves. Loo cleaner at night. The bath, when I notice a grubby ring Blush
Change bedding - every Sunday for Jesus. Dog too.
Change towels -hand towels every day or so, bath once or twice a week
Mop kitchen/b'room floor - I sort of spot clean (dog again, paw prints) around rugs. Hoovered daily, washed with a mop or floor cloth as and when. Probably every second day.
Clean inside of windows - once a month, unless I see marks. I do the outside myself so it depends on having the right weather and the time.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 17/02/2012 14:15

I do this crap every day because I have 4 bastarding cats.

It is easy to fit in - I don't do all the class, the 3 in the house share them out. I am not a skiv.

permaquandry · 17/02/2012 14:24

I must add that it's not that I don't have the time, I just can't work up any entusiasm to do it. It never looks clean, even after I've worked hard because the family mess it up so quickly, plus is an old house and has that 'worn-in' look even tho completely decorated etc. Perhaps I should stop asking advice on MN and go clean the loos......(Grin)

Hoover cleaner does it
Dust/polish I don't know these words Grin. Looks like cleaner does it
Clean toilets/bathrooms ditto
Change bedding about once a week
Change towels communal bathroom towels 2-3 times a week, my shower towel once a week
Mop kitchen/b'room floor cleaner does it. I sweep whenever it needs it.
Clean inside of windows never done this in my life.

Asinine · 17/02/2012 14:45

SuePurbly
