Best washer/dryer?

We are moving things around in our kitchen and are thinking about having a combined washer/dryer to save space.

Any opionions or recommendations?

Is it worth spending megabucks on a Miele or better to buy something middle market and be prepared to replace it more often? There are 5 of us so it will be used a lot.

Thanks!

After a lot of research we bought a Samsung WD8704RJA.

The big sell for us was low noise level as we have an open plan living arrangement. It lives in a cuboard which helps noise but it is definitely pretty quiet. You'd hardly know it was on except for the spin cycle and you can still watch tv throught it (v nb!)

Miele's are shocking expensive. I looked at them but figured unless it lasted 20y it wasn't worth it. Now maybe they do last 20y, I've no idea.

Check out reviews on www.appliance-reviews.co.uk. I used them when researching. It really depends on what's important for you. The samsung we bought is known to be slow to dry for example, I decided I could live with that (2 smallies only + I buy LOTS of clothes!) in favour of low noise. But your priorities may be different.

Good luck!

I have a AEG washer dryer, it's good but I would swap it for a seperate condenser dryer if I could.

I would go for Bosch logixx range everytime. If you look on appliancesonline.co.uk they are usually cheaper and the delivery service was fab.

I think it's only Bosch Logixx that is still made in Germany, the other ranges are made in Turkey ( I think ) and I could tell the difference in terms on quality when I was looking for dishwashers (John Lewis is fab for checking things out before buying off the net).
