too much bed - not enough sleep!

Ok more boring than title may suggest, but I need opinions on this.

I change the bed linen, every week, on the same day, without fail! We're a family of 5 so crazy amount of laundry. I wash the bedding the same day using the express 20 minute wash at 40 degrees (Ye Gods I'm boring myself with this thread now) Iron if necessary.

My ds told me today that a 20 minute wash cycle for bed linen is 'manky' and it needs a longer cycle to get really clean. Really? It's only been on a bed for a week, and I don't have any bed wetters. I would struggle to stay on top of it all if I use an hour cycle. (I do towels on a longer wash)

I don't really think I'm going to change what I do, it suits me and everything seems clean and fresh, but I am keen to hear your opinions.

You like ironing? Grin

My DC get their bedding washed every week, ours gets done fortnightly. All washed at 40deg, then hung outside or tumbled (hate hate hate, washing hung up in the house)

My lot all have fancy dark coloured quilt covers, some with sequins and embroidery. I'm not sure they'd like 60°C

Our bedding gets washed weekly at 30 degrees like virtually everything else. 2 adults, 2 sweaty teenagers- one allergy sufferer who is not adversely affected by that.

Sod ironing anything other than the pure cotton pillowcases.
