DH is on nights so it's me and two DC today and I've got a load of house bits to do. Can't be arsed though unfortunately, so maybe a list will help.

List as follows (might add to this):

See if tax credits are open and phone them if so
Fold laundry mountain
Wash another load
Hang up wet load
Make dinner (take some ingredients out of freezer first)
Walk children (avoiding pervert-inhabited park)
Go for a run (again avoiding aforementioned park)
Hoover
Get change bag and packed lunches ready for tomorrow
Do Tesco online order, or at least book slot

Try not to lose patience with small children

Go for a run is on my list too ( 4 inches of snow has scuppered that)

ditavonteesed · 05/02/2012 09:15

I could be up for a list, kids playing out so may as well get on with stuff in the house.
load of washing
walk dogs seperatley
take kids sledging
dust and hoover
clean bathroom
kids homework
sort out hat box.
that should do for starters.

Right, that's DD down for a nap so I'll make a start.

ILOVE it's rubbish isn't it? Fortunately it's a lovely crisp day here and no snow (usually were have loads compared to the South so it's nice not to be digging !)

Meet you back here with a brew later on dita :)

Can someone help me break down my list?

Please?

I don't know whether it's best to approach it room by room, or by downstairs/upstairs or just haphazardly doing whatever I feel like at the time.

I have a massive list to do before Feb 10th when I have visitors. Most of it isn't that bad/already done regularly/etc but I like things to be freshly done before anyone shows up.

So:

Deep clean bathroom (clean tiles and grout, clean mirrors and window, clean bath side and shower cubicle, de-clutter old and nearly empty stuff, clean shelf unit that houses make up etc, clean loo inside and out, mop and polish floor)

Deep clean kitchen (clean cupboard inside and out, clean cooker, microwave, storage jars, find homes for everything, clean fridge/freezer, clean dishwasher and washing machine, bins and recycling out, clean tiles and grout, shine sink and taps, mop and polish floor)

Scrub landing carpet

Wash, dry and store bedlinen

De-clutter living room

Clean keyboard and hoover behind PC (living room)

Wash voiles (living room)

Put away clothes (bedrooms)

Hoover everywhere

Dust everywhere

Leather cleaning stuff for sofa (living room)

Clean skirtings (hallway, living room, landing)

De-cobweb (dining room and kitchen)

Get fire logs out of storage

Re-hang dining room curtains (have been taken down and washed but not back up yet)

Clean and polish tiled floors (hall/porch)

Mop and wood treat wood floors (dining room)

Wood treat and polish dining table

Find a sodding tablecloth

I think that's everything. Help!

ditavonteesed · 05/02/2012 13:12

right lunch eaten and cuppa drunk, onward with that dusting.

ohbugrit · 05/02/2012 20:20

Right, all done apart from the changing bag. Even changed my bed so I get to enjoy crisp fresh sheets :)

Hope you lot finished yours too. Lubey , I'd do the occasional stuff first, eg curtain washing etc. Then deep clean each room. Then save the last day to do a final dust, Hoover, polish sort of thing.

Now for a wee slice of banoffee pie :)
