Buy some Scrub Free from Lakeland - Awesome product.

louby86 · 29/01/2012 03:38

Then use the shower squeegy from Lakeland after every shower to clear the screen, you get less build up of soap scum and watermarks then

Are LAkeland products available online?

I cleaned mine today. Been putting it off for ages as it was gross.
Used Mr Muscle Window and Glass cleaner with kitchen roll and it's come up beautiful! Well, as beautiful as a shower screen can be!

Rubyl1978 · 29/01/2012 04:19

Oh my..just checked out Lakelands website, think I might be buying a few products today! What do you think about the steam cleaner? I was watching QVC the other day and they had the H20 power mop x 5 advertised im so tempted to buy it.

Elbow grease to get it clean. Then make everyone wipe it down with one of these after every shower. Small children can easily be persuaded that this is a fun game.

Rubyl1978 · 29/01/2012 04:31

Hey im liking the idea of getting everyone to wipe down...will never happen in my house though. Have 2 boys and a partner who thinks cleaning the toilet is a wummins job! I have no chance. : )

The best thing I have found is Flash Ulitmate spray. Spray, leave for a few mins then rinse off. Magic stuff.

WaxyBean · 29/01/2012 15:00

If its limescale then Viakal spray is fantastic.

Mollymoomoo · 29/01/2012 18:07

Ruby, anyone who fails to wipe the shower in my house gets to clean it fully...husband never misses it now. Working on his loo aim now!

dwpanxt · 29/01/2012 18:23

Tip I got off here was to use Mr Muscle multi-task bathroom spray. I wipe over the screen very occasionally with a microfibre cloth and even more occasionally give it a quick spray all over.

No streaks or greying here. But we are in a medium soft water area so no doubt that has an affect also.

bonzo77 · 29/01/2012 18:30

It's probably a mixture of soap scum and limescale. I spray mine with viakal spray, leave for a few minutes then wipe dry. Then use a glass cleaner spray. Tesco do a daily shower cleaner spray that you use after showering that stops is coming back.

Spray it with Limelite foam (in lurid green bottle.) Leave the foam on for about 20 mins. Door closed, window open, it's cruel stuff. Then scrub it with one of those nylon bath scrunchies or an abrasive sponge, rinse and scrape water off with one of those shower squeegee scraper things. If you use the scraper every time you shower from now on, it'll stay clean and sparkly. Ours was hideous and cloudy but I cleaned it in the new year and it still sparkles when I walk into the bathroom. Hard water areas are the worst.

Limelite isn't eco, but if you use it very occasionally it makes everything sparkle like Vegas and the effect lasts for ages.

I used toilet cleaner with limescale remover on ours - we live in a very hard water area. It did work really well. I didn't want to use the neat limescale remover because I was worried what it would do to the chrome finish at the bottom of the doors so I rubbed it on wearing gloves using a cloth and left only for a minute or two before I washed it off. It worked well although some parts needed a second go.

valiumredhead · 30/01/2012 17:18

Once you have cleaned it use Mr Muscle shower clean after every shower, it will never get grubby again!
