Hi,

Im a relatively new mum and im really worried about exposing my children to chemicals when not neccessary. I hear that you can make excellent cleaning products at home without the use of harsh chemicals. I dont know where to find "recipes" for these. Do any of you know of any safe but powerful recipes for cleaning products.

Thanks

I use a blob of washing up liquid and sponge with green scourer on one side to clean all the kitchen and all the bathroom (different sponge for each)

not exactly eco friendly as such, but not spritzing orrible smelly chemicals about either.

It's also very cheap

This website is about simple living, which may not be what you are after. However, the lady who runs it provides lots of advice on eco-friendly cleaning products etc.

Have a look!

If you speak/understand French, I can send you a link to a Belgian (I think) website which includes a booklet with loads of recipes to make eco-friendly cleaning products.

Distilled vinegar is an amazing cleaning product. You can mix it with loads of different ingredients such as bicarbonate of soda (use it to unplug drains) salt ( to clean tiles).

good luck.
