Cleaning Blinds?

The shutter type ones, how do you do it?! I noticed my lounge blinds have seen better days and could do with being thrown out and new ones bought cleaned. Whats the best way to get them clean?

Vertical! Doesnt matter, they are detachable and currently soaking in the bath! Thanks for the reply though!

Yes i rolled mine up and put them in a pillowcase. For me it was a BIG MISTAKE! Next time I soaked them flat, patted dry between towels, hung them straight back up. Came out like new :)
