Our bathroom needs a new floor. I have been looking at bathroom renovation threads on Mumsnet, and amtico seems a popular choice.

I have googled But am confused- is it like vinyl? Why is it such a popular choice? Seems quite expensive too.

I put amtico in our kitchen bout 23 years ago. Still perfect! An expensive wood look floor. Practically indestructible.would highly recommend if you don't want to use real wood or stone. EXPENSIVE tho.

I'm a massive fan too. As anniewoo says, it is indestructable - ours has been down for about 20 years and it is perfect. We have oak floorboard ones in our kitchen and family room, and people frequently complement us on our wooden floors Wink.

Expensive, but will outlast anything else. It is also warmer than tiles, and tolerates a bit of movement in the house (as opposed to tiles which can crack). If you go for it, make sure you use an approved installer (expensive again), and make sure they floor the bathroom before any of the fittings go in. You want sink on toilet to sit on top of the amtico, rather than amtico being cut around it.

If you buy strips, you will probably have very little waste. As I recall, you can buy part metres. Amtico also have a budget range which is about half the price, but still looks fantastic - we have it in our cloakroom.
