I'm thinking salad and something - but don't want to do new potatoes. Any ideas? Maybe potato cakes? Nothing too hard or takes too long!

Pilau rice is lovely with salmon.

Or.
chop two rashes of bacon, fry a few minutes. Add a tea spoon of caraway seeds. Add half a liter of vegetable stock. Add chopped savoy cabbage and a handful of runner beans. steam for 15 minutes.

another vote for rice, perhaps with bits.
