Washing trainers

I've got a pair of trainers which need washed. In the past I've always put them in the washing machine but as I've got a new one I'm a bit worried that they might damage the drum as they're tumbling around. I read somewhere (perhaps on here) that putting them in the dishwasher also works. Any advice?

For real?
If they weigh less than the 7 or 8Kg load your machine is built to take and spin at approx 1400rpm why would they damage the drum? Are they particularly stinky? Wink

I know they say you can put them in a pillow case to stop them making so much noise but I don't think you can damage your machine. I wash trainers a lot and its never been a problem Smile

I usually put them in with something like towels. The theory (in my head Hmm ) is that they'll get kind of "wrapped around" and not bonk around so much...

You could buy one of these if you are really worried, but I don't think you need to.

I just put mine in with a wash of tea towels.

I always wash them with a bath towel for a 'bit of padding'.

yuk at tea towels and bath towels, put them with rags to clean the floors, bath mats... They shouldn't go at more than 30C so I would think that a wash in the dish washer would disintegrate them.
they won't damage your washing machine, it is light compare to a full load.
