Best double fridge/freezer?

Getting one of these for my new kitchen. It cannot be plumbed in, which rules out a lot of them, I think. I don't want a Bosch and I'm not keen on the look of Smegs.

do you mean double width?

MrsJohnDeere · 08/01/2012 16:30

Yes

I have this. I love it. Have had it 2 years.

I cant give a recommendation as we are looking into applciances ourselves, but LG do some unplumbed fidge freezers, American style if that is what you were after, like this

If you mean a tall fridge freezer then have a look at Leibherr and F and Paykel like Taffeta's link, they both have a good range and very good reputations.
We have a smallish Leibherr fridge freezer which we have had for 9 years and its great, though too small now we have DCs.

Taffeta - that looks lovely but I'm after something a bit bigger (one side fridge, one side freezer).

Yes, I wondered about LG. Saw them in John Lewis yesterday but don't know anyone who has one in RL.

oops its this one actually - width 79cm. The fridge is massive - very wide. The freezer is also a good size, again because of the width.

But no, its not a side by side one. It is way bigger inside than a lot of the side to side ones, and I got it because I wanted more fridge than freezer space.

Taffeta · 08/01/2012 16:52

Actually mine is slightly different but the same measurements. Mine is flat fronted and has a right hand hinge. But hey whatever.

MrsJohnDeere · 08/01/2012 18:36

That looks good. A definite contender. I didn't know you could get wide ones that didn't have 2 doors.

May be worth getting A Which subscription of looking as past Which mags for recommendations.
JOhn Lewis told me Liebherr, F & Paykel and Miele were the best makes to look for if price wasnt an issue.

PigletJohn · 08/01/2012 19:48

you can also read Which free at your local library.

MrsJohnDeere · 09/01/2012 12:29

Got Which? Just looking for some anecdotal views from others (particularly the negatives) to paint a rounded picture of what certain fridges are like to live with.
