Musty clothes - tips please?

Just dug some ski and winter gear out of the loft. Been there for years, in a suitcase. It's not damp up there, and the clothes are not damp and there is no mould etc. However, they do smell a bit "musty". I've run through the machine and they still smell a bit (though as they are still damp the smell may disappear a bit when dry).

Suspect they will need at least another cycle of something. I may wash again, this time use some OTT fabric softener or something, but does anyone have any other suggestions please as to what may assist the passing of the slight pong?!

Thanks!

Hang them outside to dry. Smile

Watching this with interest, as I have a similar problem.

outide in the sun and wind will help a lot

otherwise put them in the big tumble-drier at a laundrette.

wash again with a cupful of white vinegar added to the detergent drawer and also some white vinegar in the fabric conditioner compartment.

vinegar is a natural deodoriser. clothes will smell of vinegar when wet but this disappears when they are dry - they just smell fresh and clean.
