My dd is 8 months old and will be on the move shortly, we have an Aga in the kitchen which gets rather warm, I'm worried dd may burn herself so am thinking of a guard for it! Has anyone had the same problem and if did u use a guard? where did u get it from?

Not being cheeky but are you going to cover all the radiators in your house as well? This is what I said to a friend who asked me the same question about 3 years ago when her pfb was 1. We have an Aga and have had it through 2 in toddler years. Yes, the Aga is warm to touch the front panels but not enough to burn. Like radiators a toddler will touch, feel the heat and withdraw their hand. We have just always said "hot hot" pointing at Aga, radiators and hot cups of tea etc and although they can't say much a toddler does understand more than we think.

I agree with Fresh although I actually put some black tape down on the floor a little way back from the cooker in our case.

Took a couple of days but the boys know they are not allowed past the black line when I'm cooking now.

Also gives me room to move around a cook without the boys hanging off my legs or tripping over toys. Grin

I think it's open fires you need to buy gaurds for, all animlas have an in built aversion to anything hot.
