A Playmobil plane has crash landed in my bath and left black marks which won't come off

Any ideas? The plane doesn't appear to have any damage at all Xmas Hmm but there are black skid marks on the inside of the bath and I can't get rid of them. I've tried bleach and scrubbing but it didn't work.

Its a normal bath, not cast iron or anything. What else can I try?

WD40 on a sponge - takes most marks off my bath from bath toys...

Magic sponge eraser things work too - get them in poundland/similar. Just cut a small piece off, add a little water and it takes anything off anything :)

Or lighter fuel - you can use it on fabrics/carpets too

Magic sponge.... brilliant invention and doesn't stink the house out !

Barkeepers friend - should do the trick - get it in hardware stores

giraffesCanGoFirstFootingOnNYE · 01/01/2012 10:00

sue the pilot for damages? drunk flying perhaps?

Meglet · 01/01/2012 10:04

Magic Eraser. I get mine from Robert Dyas or Wilkos. Just cut or tear a small piece off, wet it and clean. Genius invention.

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2012 10:06

Jif usually works. Did everyone get out alive?

maras2 · 01/01/2012 10:18

Toothpaste sometimes works.

iwouldgoouttonight · 01/01/2012 10:28

Thanks all - I'll look for the magic eraser, that sounds fab.

Thankfully both pilots got out alive. I think they should make real aeroplanes out of Playmobil - they seem indestructable.

Watch out for the Magic Eraser. You will be going round the house rubbing marks off everything. It's v satisfying. Grin

I have finally got myself to Wilkinson's to pick up a magic eraser and it is the most amazing thing I have ever found - thank you all for recommending it. I just did a tiny rub on the marks in the bath and they just vanished! So I tried it on the mark on the wall near the bin where the lid brushes against it and I have never been able to get off. That just vanished too!

DP thinks the wall and bath will now disintegrate as the magic eraser must be made of acid for it to work that well.

I am happily wandering about the house rubbing marks off everything.

I am so happy. [sad sad git]

hi,
have had similar mishaps. T-cut works very well - the stuff you would use on a car to get scratches out. I got mine on offer in Asda for £4 (tube) which was half normal price. Promise, it works a treat.

stealthsquiggle · 17/01/2012 16:03

do you have any playmobil police to interview the pilots - was it pilot error, or were there extenuating circumstances (we have had a couple of near-misses involving dragons)?

taking a look around, I think I need one of these magic erasers - do they erase mess as well Grin?

iwouldgoouttonight · 17/01/2012 16:37

We do have Playmobil police and they have realised the pilots on bail. There was doubt over whether one of them was really a qualified pilot (he looked remarkably like a pirate), but I think they concluded it was just an unfortunate accident.

The magic eraser removed my DCs from the living room yesterday as they were slightly perturbed by my manic erasering of anything with a mark on.

I must have one of these magic erasers... I must!

NormanTheForeman · 18/01/2012 17:40

Perhaps we should get one too - we could end up with all sorts of Playmobil-induced marks in our house..........
