Steam mops. Tell about them

I have been told to get a steam mop by my mate.
Apparently it's great on laminate and Karndean flooring.
Cleans grouting.

So what should I should I get? The price ranges are vast.
And what else can I use it for?

Is it a housekeeping miracle or not much good really?

I had a black and decker one. It did leave the laminate rather streaky. It broke after a month so I got a refund. I'm considering trying the Vax one but not sure.

I have this Bissel steam mop from Lakeland that is easy to use and good on wood floors as long as they are sealed. It can be used on other smooth surfaces such as ceramic tiles and synthetic floor covering. Can be used on carpet too but not as good as a proper carpet cleaner obviously.

Lakeland also do an own brand cheaper version.

I have a Vax S2, had it about a month. Love it. I have a baby doing part-BLW (baby led weaning) and it was sooooo time consuming getting the mop out all the time. I can speed through with my steam mop - just a minute or 2 to do the kitchen and bathroom. Haven't tried it on carpet yet but apparently it sterilises (?) it or something. If I only had a small amount of non-carpet floor I might not like it... but I do and I love it.
